Honeymoon

Title: Honeymoon
Posted by: claire ryan on 14-08-2011

Discussion: Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice please. We are getting married 29th Sept 2012 and would like to spend our wee honeymoon in south uist, it's somewhere I have always wanted to go. The Whitefalls spa lodges are a tad over our budget to say the least....would be amazing though but the funds just wont stretch that far:(

Can anyone recommend a self catering cottage for 2, would be great if it had a for poster and log/peat fire for cosy nights in and a spa bath/sauna/hot tub would be nice.....been looking at Corrodale cottage which at the moment seems like our 1st choice.

Thanks very much.

hehe, you'd think I lived in a big city surrounded, I actually live in a wee village in Fife, just though I should check though, sometimes I need to have a wee word with myself I think, lol!

I'm sure we'll find everything we need there, we've already been looking at the smokehouse, certainly want to make a trip there for some supplies too:)

There are 2 main shops in the head of South Uist. Lovats at the north of the Island, on the left before you cross the causeway to Benbecula, and also the Co-op in Creagorry as you come into Benbecula from the South.

There are shops you know... it aint that bad! Shops all over the joint, at every main community, such as Lochboisdale and Lochmaddy... and a few in Balivanich.

Wow thanks Eoghan, the cottage looks amazing, I'll certainly get in touch with Angus to see if our dates are available.

Another wee question...what should we do about our grocery shopping? Is there somewhere on the Island we can do a weekly shop or would we be better to bring everything with us and just get a few fresh bits when we arrive?
