seafood suppliers and sea angling on S Uist?

Title: seafood suppliers and sea angling on S Uist?

Discussion: Hi everyone, this is my first post on here. I'm coming to South Uist in June and wondered if there was anywhere to buy fresh seafood (langoustines, scallops etc) - we are self catering. Is there a market or local processor or outlet?

Also, can anyone recommend any decent shore fishing marks? My party is coming to fish for trout but might want to have a cast in the sea if its any good. We'll be there in June.

Cheers for now,

Thanks Eoghan - we usually get fishing from the S. Uist Estates for the machair lochs but I wondered if there were any good sea angling marks worth a shot for the Sunday - I fancy having a spin for pollock, and it would be nice to see more of the islands.

Thanks again,

You will need to gain permits from the South Uist Angling Club, or the North Uist Angling club to fish the Lochs in Uist, however, there are many places to fish for white fish etc.

One of the best places is the Culvert, in Lochcarnan, or through many of the sea outlets. The South ford causeway has yielded some decent fish. Contact Andy Biddles at Heron Point bed and breakfast, you can find him in the accommodation section.
