Discussion: Does anyone know how long the waiting list is for social housing in South Uist? We want to take our family somewhere safe and beautiful to give the kids the best start in life. We are coming up for an adventure next month. Where we live now is a great town but it has the beginings of a real drugs problem and we would rather the kids were well away from it.

Jackie, We have been on list for 9 months and still 3rd in line. Youe attitude is so spot on. Private housing is cheap so quick solution is to buy private - there are jobs there if you are not fusst and not shy to work hard. Steve
