Tracing MacAulay History Maybe someone can help

Title: Tracing MacAulay History Maybe someone can help
Posted by: Richard Parks on 19-10-2009

Discussion: I am tracing back my grandfather (Dan MacAulay) family tree on my mothers side.

According to one book it suggests Dan MacAulay was the son of Archie and Ann (Gilleasbuig) of Barrachois.

"Archie was the son of Ian ("John") possible son of Domhnull and brother of Eoghann, was born in Scotland around the year 1808. His wife's name was Margaret, and they had at least four children: Sarah, c. 1841; iiSandy; c. 1843; lll. Angus, c. 1846 and IV. Archie, c. 1848."

Ian (Born in Solas?) may have been the son of Domhnull married to Miss Mac Donald. Ian immigrated from scotland to PEI in 1842 and moved to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in 1844 according to the same book.

Anyways North and South Uist keeps coming up so any information you may know of would be greatly appreciated.
