LOCHABER ROAD FATALITY.
A man of over 60 years of age , named Alexander M'Queen , who had been employed as a labourer in tlio district for some tine , was fatally injured late on Saturday night on the road leading to Kinlochleven . Deceased had been at Kinlochleven , and it is understood he was making his way to one of the huts erected by the contractors for the road reconstruction work in the neighbourhood when he was overtaken by one of two buses plying between Fort-William and Kinlochleven , and knocked down . A passing motorist conveyed the injured man to the Belford Hospital at Fort-William , but he never regained consciousness , and died shortly afterwards . He is believed io be a native of Bcnbecula . The driver of the bus states that in endeavouring to avoid M'Queen he swerved tlie bus info the roadside ditch . |
