Discussion: I am trying to research Clan MacLellan from South Uist. Any information or leads would be welcome. I heard there may even be a book of Croft History floating around? I have the names of my ancestors who emigrated, John and his brother Angus around 1787 to Prince Edward Island Canada. I have the father's names going back a few more generations, but no dates, which is ultimately what I am looking for. Thanks in advance!

My husband’s family are MacLellans from South Uist. They lived around Loch Eynort and Kildonan. His family emigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1851.

Hello Erin. I am also descended from John and Angus MacLellan. We have a cousin, Holly, who has done much research as so have I. We haven't been able to find much about the family on South Uist. Are you on Ancestry.com? I have quite a lot on there. I'm on Facebook too. I want to start. MacLellan group on there soon. Let's stay in touch. Kipp Sturgeon
