Discussion: Hi there, Halò,
I found your details on line via the 'Failte - Welcome to the Hebrides’ website and was wondering if you could help me find a Pen pal from any of the Islands? I saw a fantastic programme on BBC Alba the other day, and was amazed to see a lady teaching people how to sing in Scots Gaelic, so I was wondering if you could help me with my search?
Here’s some details about me:
Pen Pal Gàidhlig, Gaelic Pen pal sought by an English guy with a passion for Gaelic, who loves ANYTHING to do with the Inner and Outer Hebrides, Gaelic culture, the Gaelic language and Gaelic Folk music, so if you’re from Islay, Jura, Skye, Mull, Raasay, Staffa, Canna, Rùm, Eigg, Muck, especially from Sanday, Canna,Eilean Chathastail, Eilean nan Each, Hyskeir, Garbh Sgeir, Eagamol, Humla, and Dubh Sgeir and Barra, Benbecula, Berneray, Harris, Lewis, North Uist, South Uist, and St Kilda then that would be IONGANTACH!!!!!
I’m looking for a someone who shares my passion for Knitting, Sewing , Quilting, Patchwork, Rag Rugging, Peg Loom weaving, Peg Stick weaving, Punch Needle Rug making, Lucet Braiding and Decorative - Knotting, Looping, Weaving ,Twisting, Beading; making Beaded Jewellery and Loom Bead Weaving (which I've just discovered)!!!
However if you also have a passion for; writing and receiving letters, learning Languages especially Gaelic, Botany, Bird Watching, Gardening, and love music especially World, Celtic, and Gaelic Folk Music – Capercaillie, Runrig, Donald Shaw and the famous Transatlantic sessions, to name just a few, then get writing!!!!!
Well that’s a bit about me, so if you’re interested then please send me a letter!!!!!
