Discussion: hi, another one trying his best to find out about my roots,my great grandmother was born in south uist approx 1871 her name is jane mcgrath thought to hail from lochboisdale her mothers name so i have been told was ann campbell also from south uist anyone out there help me thanks william black

The only McGraths on Uist on 1881 below, and if you go on to the Scotlandspeoples website at http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

and do a search in the statuatory marriage records for a William McGrath and Ann Campbell, you will get their marriage cert. in 1863. William Mcgrath appeared to be a travelling Salesman whose usual address looks like Aberfeldy, Perthshire.
