Discussion: Any MacMillan DESCENDANTS of the following couple:-

Donald MacMillan c1820 S/Uist & Mary MacPhee c1821 S/Uist

Married 1845 recorded Bornish both living in S/Boisdale, S/Uist at time of marriage although I believe both may have been born Frobost, S/Uist?

Children: (all born S/Uist)

Angus 1847 S/Boisdale
Roderick 1849 S/Frobost
Neil 1851 Frobost
Alexander 1853 Frobost
John 1856 Frobost

The family moved to Kildonan from Frobost.

Hoping to find marriages etc. of the above & does anyone know who Donald MacMillan’s parents were please?

I have Mary’s details as she is my ancestor so now looking for details of the husband and any connections with the children.

Any contributions gladly welcome as this branch has no leaves yet :-)

Regards,

Anne Marie.

Hi Anne Marie - I was only recently introduced to this website when I visited South Uist (from Sydney, Australia) looking for my McPhee ancestors who lived in and around Kilpheder. I can't directly connect to your Mary McPhee - though she may be a cousin to my Greatx2 grandfather Angus McPhee (Born circa 1818, son of Niel MacPhee and Ann MacAuley) - the family lived in Loch Baghasdail and Kilpheder, so not far from Frobost and Sth Boisdale as I understand it. Do you have details of Mary's ancestors? I am keen to make contact with any McPhee descendants in South Uist or further away, to see if we can find a family connection and assist each other with research. I'd be grateful for any assistance you can give. I can be contacted at roberta@food-wine-travel.com
