Discussion:
Hi there,

I am looking for information from anyone who remembers the McInnes/Fitzpatrick family who lived at 10 East Gernish. My great grandparents lived at the house (Donald and Margaret) and they moved to Glasgow. When they both passed away, they were buried back home in Uist and my great aunt Margaret lived at East Gernish for years afterward.

She lived there with her husband Frank Fitzpatrick, their son Francis now lives there as they have both passed away.

I am looking for anyone who remembers my family or happens to have any photographs of the area. We are trying to contact Francis also but thought I would post here also.

Hello

I'm Rhonda Fitzpatrick, wife of Frank (Francis) who is the younger son of Margaret and Frank Fitzpatrick of 10 East Gerenish. Frank inherited the house when his mum died and we come home about 6 times a year.

I assume that Lindsey is Marion's daughter. I'll tell Frank you were on the forum and I'm sure he'll be able to help.

Lindsey, you may want to contact Angus McRury. He is registered on the site and I have no doubt he would be delighted to help out. Regards, Eoghan

Lyndsey, I don't know why but your name seems to ring a bell with me lol, only because I remember when being there there was someone with the same name as me. You weren't related to georgie were you. My sister and I remember visiting a couple with aunt margaret and uncle frank and they had daughters around the same age as us.

That would be fantastic, we have tried calling the house but don't seem to get a reply and thought maybe franc has it as just a holiday home. My email address is info@bowentherapyscotland.co.uk

I remember being at the house when I was young, my gran (margarets sister) took me and my sister for 2 weeks. It was wonderful and I have such fond memories of it.

We're trying to find out more about our great grandparents and how they lived etc but don't know where to start. Is there any historical societies or anything there I could check with?

I knew Frank and Margaret Fitzpatrick very well. They were a wonderful couple and were like second grandparents to myself and my sisters. My family are still in touch with Rhonda and Fank (jnr) and can put you in touch with them if you haven't been able to contact them already.
