This brand-new (2009), self-catering residential caravan is fully-equipped and tastefully decorated. It has 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin), lounge area & open-plan kitchen, separate shower and WC. It is double-glazed, and has gas central heating, Freesat TV, telephone, DVD, CD player etc. Outside there is decking all round (with chairs and loungers) and there is parking for 2 cars.
Local facilities include a public house (Am Politician) 10-minutes walk away, serving an extensive menu; a general store and Post Office. Eriskay is linked to South Uist by a causeway. In Lochboisdale (about 15 minutes drive away) there is a variety of shops, including butcher’s, grocery and gift-shop. There is also a doctor’s surgery, dentist’s, filling station, bank and Tourist Information centre. A wide range of activities is available such as salmon and trout fishing, hill walking, bird and deer watching. In all, we think Eriskay is a great base for the discerning visitor, combining tranquility with lots to do and places to visit.
Sail with CalMac from Oban to South Uist then cycle or drive to Eriskay. Alternatively, sail from Harris or Skye to North Uist and then travel south by road through the Uists, finally crossing the causeway to Eriskay. Or sail from Oban or Tiree to Barra and then make the short ferry crossing from Ardmhor direct to Eriskay.
Fly from Glasgow and Stornoway to Benbecula or Barra with Flybe. On a clear day the aerial scenery is spectacular. Enthusiasts will love landing on the Triagh Mhor, at the north end of Barra: the only runway in the world washed twice a day by the tide.
For the comfort of all guests, the property is non-smoking.
Tariff includes gas & electricity.
