The Polochar Inn stands in a stunningly beautiful location on the south west tip of South Uist.
Built on the coastal machair, it looks out on a magnificent sandy beach and offers panoramic views
of Eriskay to the east and Barra to the south.
The hotel is ideally located for exploring the southern Hebridean isles with the newly opened causeway
to Eriskay and ferries from both South Uist and Eriskay over to Barra.
The island is a haven for birdwatching, fishermen, hill walkers, archaeologists, cyclists and general sightseers. Fishing permits can be arranged if required.
This is a family-run hotel, consisting of 11 bedrooms, dining room, public bar, lounge bar and residents lounge. There is also a conference room for large functions such as wedding receptions and business meetings.
The pub changed hands during the middle of 2005 and is now owned by local sisters Morag MacKinnon and Margaret Campbell from South Uist.
Complimentary wi-fi available in all rooms. |
