As stated before - excellent site. Would be nice to see more blogs though? - so anyone visiting please join as there is a lot more to this site as a member! My roots are from Uist and I am compiling a family tree which includes, MacKinnon, Steele and Cumming of Eriskay so I am interested in any strays of the above especially families from Canada with connections to any of the above as I have a wealth of info. which I am willing to share but need more. I can be contacted at annebarr38@hotmail.com regarding any ancestry connections. I will add a blog with a more detailed entry - so don't forget to join. Regards, Anne-marie

This is a wonderful site, it feels brilliant to be connected to the isles. It's be a few years since I've been back, but they are always in my heart.

I was born in Glasgow but I was brought up in South Uist. I left at the end of May in 2003 with my parents to move to Cumbernauld. The main reason why I went to Cumbernauld was to continue my further Education. However, I have plenty of fond memories from my time in South Uist and I would definitely like to return whenever I get the chance.

I heard about the site from Margaret Anne Morrison who I accidently came into contact with via Friends Reunited.I lived in Balivanich for two years with my family Geoff, Russ and Chris Barnes and my youngest, Paul Eastham. I feel homesick all the time and I wish to return there to live when I can
