Discussion: Can anyone please give me contact details for Angus Macmillan on Uist. A cousin of mine is keen to get hold of a book by a Lenemann, A land fit for heroes.

A number of us are looking forward to a first time ever visit in July.

Thank you

Alex Nairn

Hello again LuRose, well I hope. All well here and currently having a good look at the South Uist MacMillans so will hope to find a link somehwre down the line to your folks. When I do by the way, though surrounded by some Norse names, your own R1b etc Haplogroup will not introduce me to any Viking stock as it is an indicator of Western Atlantic i.e. Gaelic ancestry. Best wishes. Angus

I imagine that, among a choice of Angus Macmillans, I am the one you want to contact. certainly I have Leah Lenemann\'s book. How can I help? Angus

Hi alex..

Usually Mr. Angus answers promptly..I am lookning for the ancient McMillion/MacMullion family of the Isles as well....Have you had a DNA test taken ? I have always thought our last name was Williams but about six years ago, a cousin from West VA visited and informed me we were not Williams but MacMillion....I dismissed that thought as I had never heard that....

Then in 2009, my brother did a DNA swab for us to make sure....Lo and Behold, it came back that we are MacMillions from Barra and of the MacNeil and MacDonald Clan....

My YDNA is thru Family Tree Dna...The subgroup is R1b1a2a1a1b5b.
The haplo group is L165/S68. We are Viking.
The kit # is : 162876..

This can be compared to: MacNeil, Buie, MacDonald, Cameron and MacMullin....

Did you find the book you were wanting ?

I do hope Mr. Angus is well...

LuRose.
