Discussion: I am very curious to know if Gaelic is spoken as the first language by most Hebrideans?

I am fairly certain , at least I would like to think so, that Gaelic is the spoken first language of most Hebrideans. I have been away from Uist for nearly 50 years but still prefer to speak Gaelic in an all Gaelic speaking company, in fact I am told that the old accent is as strong as ever.
