Title: My Great Grandfather Archibald MacLellan/(Sarah)Anne Macaulay Saskatchewan Canada
Posted by: Eric Garrett on 29-06-2010

Discussion: Hi,some of my relatives lived on North Uist, and other Islands, and were named MacLellan . My great grand fathers name was Archie MacLellan, and his wife was (Sarah) Anne Macaulay and they settled in Kamsack Sakatchewan. He played the bagpipes (see uploaded picture of him on this site). My Grandmother was Florence May(me) MacLellan . She married my Grandfather Alfred Garrett from Sheffield UK.In Canada, they had three sons,Wallace,Rodney, and Marshall. My father was Rodney Garrett, and I have one brother Randy. I now live in California, with my wife Grace, and my 10 year old daughter Catherine.I could use some help piecing together both sides of the family from North Uist, possibly other Islands I have been told. Thanks,Eric Garrett.

My g.grandfather Donald (b.1830 Knockline NU) was eldest son of Ewen, and your g.grandfather's brother. Donald married 1865 at Howmore SU to Marion Beaton and returned to Cladach Kyles, NU. Donald died young at age 43. His father Ewen died in 1881. The family croft at No.7 Cl. Kyles passed to youngest son Charles (b.1850) whose grandsons Archibald & Charles presently occupy the croft. If I can help Eric, please get in touch.
