The Isle of South Uist

Uist - MacIsaacs - Johnson's

Title: Uist - MacIsaacs - Johnson's
Posted by: Heidi Corning on 09-09-2014

Discussion: I'll be here until Friday morning. I'd love to meet some possible cousins. I'm descended from John and Ann (Johnston) MacIsaac who went to Prince Edward Island in the early 1800s.

I spoke to Bill Lawson, the genealogist, who says the likely lived on the east side of the island based on where they first settled on Prince Edward Island.

In any case, it's wonderful to be here on the land of my ancestors.

Hi Heidi,

Do you know roughly what decade they emigrated?
Did they have children?

If so, what were their names & yrs of birth approx?

South Uist is 22 miles long i.e. your family could have come from any of numerous areas? :-)

Do you have ANY area name at all which we could associate them to?

Thosw surnames are common on Uist.

Anne Marie
