Well it\'s been fun , but I crapped out again. I was once sure my family came from South Uist, but I will never be sure. Thanks for the help, good bye.

So far it is very confusing. I have never heard of a MacNeil connection to our MacMillan family from South Uist.

Hello again Bryan: I think you will indeed find that a rather confusing earlier discussion here, initiated by Sheldon Sim, concerns the folk you mention. Ignoring the \'historical\' inserts, there are two pointers that may help you along the way. One is the reference to the Clan MacMillan DNA database. The otherif Fr MacMillan, Judique\'s book on migrants to Cape Breton. Good hunting. Angus

There is very little known about them prior to migrating to East Bay in Cape Breton ,Canada. They were from South Uist and I know that the Donald MacMillan that runs the Croft House is a direct relative. I don't know how he is, but my own Uncle Donald MacMillan visited there in the 1970's and passed on very little info.

Bryan: Is this not the MacMillan line from Daliburgh that is in the Clan MacMillan DNA database and genetically MacNeill? If so, there is an earlier discussion on this board. I will have a look. Angus

Hi Bryan,

Do you have any other details e.g. -

Guestimate dates of birth for each
Iains's wife's name & maiden surname
Any other family members
Any clues to suggest the area they lived/migrated from
Name of ship on which they sailed
Other's they travelled with
Which country they migrated to
